EM-Lyon (the host school of the exchange program) is located at Ecully; a small affluent suburb of Lyon.
Apart from EM-Lyon, a huge mall, a cute little downtown, an enormous and rather horrendous-looking university (Ecole Centrale de Lyon; which aesthetically has a few of NAZI guards short of a concentration camp) and the internationally renowned culinary school of Paul Bocuse (located at the beautiful Chateau du Vivier), there is not much else going on there. In fact, its proximity to Lyon has enabled students to either live in the city and commute to the school everyday or live in Ecully and party at Lyon every night. In either case, the place has kept its calm and peaceful residential mood and not at all that of a student town.
