Quite close to Strasbourg (around 45 minutes by train), there lies the beautiful city of Colmar. This adorable gem of Alsace is famous for hosting one of the world’s most exquisite paintings; Grunewald’s “Retable d’Issenheim”, about which I will write extensively.
