Tom,
I chose the f18 for the depth of field…However, it was not the wisest choice, since the dof is not important here at all!
If I had to redo this picture, I would have done it with f5.6 or f8 but with ISO100 (It was a hot day and I was on the beach, hence my system was not working as it should )
The blueness of the sky should be credited to the Polarizing filter. However, every lens has a sweet-spot at which you can get the best quality (for example f8). Unfortunately, you have to find that of your lens, with trial and error.
Did I answer you questions?
so should i always favor the lens sweet spot when i have enough light as a general rule ? (also it would be good if you activated an option on you blog that notifies the commentators when someone reply on the comment, cuz i stop by this page by chance and saw your answer, i could of have never seen it)
