The small town of Cordes-sur-ciel, was built by Raimon VII (the Count of Toulouse) in 13th century, to protect Cathars (a heretic sects of Christianity) against the genocidal army of the Pope Innocent III and his ruthless commander Simon de Montfort.
As result, the town has an elevated vantage view and is blessed with some of the most facinating panoramic views I have ever seen.
