A sleeping stray dog, Istanbul.
As far as I witnessed, people of Istanbul’s attitude toward stray dogs was that of gentleness. Dogs were not as popular as cats, but at least, I have’t seen any maltreatment in public, quite unlike the psychotic reaction of ordinary Iranians toward the poor creatures, when stray dogs were still roaming the streets of Tehran and before they were all executed – regime’s favorite solution for all problems, apparently!
The memory of that savagery still haunts me to this day!
